Legal Services That Cater To The Needs Of The Elderly

It is important to consider the best way to take care of your spouse or elderly parents and whether their health care needs make it possible for them to remain in their home or how to protect their assets if they require long term care. At Albanese Law, LLC, we offer a comprehensive range of elder law and estate planning services for individuals and families throughout eastern Massachusetts. We strive to help families with elderly loved ones protect their personal assets and qualify for public Medicaid (MassHealth) and VA benefits.

When you are ready to develop an elder care plan to meet your family’s goals, speak with an experienced attorney and discuss your objectives regarding health care, living standards, tax benefits and financial planning.

The Elder Law Services We Provide

Attorney Matthew Albanese has experience and knowledge of the methods of preservation for the elderly, including:

  • Guardianships: Guardianships and conservatorships are intended to control the assets of incapacitated adults and minor children who do not have the ability to make their own decisions regarding those assets; and/or their health care needs.
  • Conservatorships: When an elderly loved one becomes incapacitated, a court-appointed conservator is required to manage and safeguard a protected person’s assets.
  • VA benefits: Veterans who are eligible, and their surviving spouses, may receive monthly benefits from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. These benefits may include medications, glasses and hearing aids, and burial expenses.
  • Medicaid planning: This planning can help preserve family assets by finding available programs to pay for medical care and other services for both at home care and nursing home expenses. In Massachusetts the average nursing home cost ranges between $12,000 to $14,000 per month.

Work with us to ensure that your loved ones have options for medical care and have the resources to pay for that care. Our firm will handle the legal issues involved with elder care, letting you focus on helping your family.
